Pentecost, commonly called the “Birthday of the Christian Church,” is June 12. This year’s Pentecost celebration is particularly special. Josh Rose will join the church through the sacrament of baptism.

We will have our coffee hour following worship to celebrate both events.

On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit empowered the disciples to preach forgiveness in the name of Christ. By tradition, three thousand were converted and baptized on that day.

The empowerment by the Holy Spirit was conferred by tongues of flames descending upon the disciples. The color representing the Holy Spirit is red to signify the flames.

Everyone is encouraged to wear red as the part of this celebration.
