Animals well blessed
On Saturday, April 24, the sun was shining, the day was warm, and a crowd gathered in the Emerson Garden for our second annual Blessing of the Animals. Eleven animals accompanied their humans to receive a blessing and remind us all of the wonders of God’s creation. There were at least six unaccompanied humans among the eighteen people participating.
Julie Grow-Collier brought Chippewa, a twelve-year old owl, and Nancy Paulin brought the youngest “blessee,” Nestlé, a chocolate lab/Portugese water dog mix. Shiloh traveled from far away West Deerfield with her humans, Hank and Judy Pydych. There were several humans and animals who had attended last year, as well. Music director Michele Smith accompanied us on the portable keyboard.
